The WebData project has mapped scholarly needs for a data platform in the research infrastructure we are building. The results are now summarised in the report “Access, interfaces, data and metadata”.

Examining researchers’ needs was done through a survey (87 responses) and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders (12 informants). Both approaches focus on four themes: access, interface, data and metadata.

The report highlights several important needs, both within and across various disciplines and research areas: openly available metadata, powerful search tools, filtration to find relevant data across crawls, and much more. Together, this gives a good starting point for prioritising further development of the data platform.
